The story follows an immensely talented cricketer who decides to make a comeback in his late 30s, ten years after he quit the sport, to prove his abilities to the world and particularly to his son. The film is now being remade in Bollywood and will feature Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in prominent roles.
This is how much Shahid Kapoor is charging for Jersey
After the massive success of Kabir Singh, which was also a remake of the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, his fans’ expectations are quite high from Jersey. And so is Shahid Kapoor’s fees. According to a report in Bombay Times, the Udta Punjab actor is getting a staggering ₹35 crore and will also share the profits of the film, making it his biggest paycheck of all time.
A report in Outlook, published in 2019, quoted a source saying, “Shahid has not only asked for a huge remuneration but also asked for a profit share. He is getting ₹35 crore plus taxes as his fee, along with a 20 percent share in the film’s profits.” According to a report in News18, the film was initially scheduled to release on August 28, 2020, but had to be delayed due to the pandemic and also because some parts of the shoot were incomplete. Now as per the same report, the crew members are expected to travel to Chandigarh by the end of September to finish shooting the film. The new release date of the film is yet to be announced.
